New Ross Medieval Town Wall Defences C1265

Works consisted to repairs to New Ross Town Wall at Goat Hill Co Wexford. There was a section of wall that was at risk of falling with major vegetation requiring removal. There was also evidence of failure of the mortar, and voids in the masonry.

Works required the removal of all the vegetation careful dismantling of the failed section of the wall and rebuilding and local patch repairs to other sections where there was loss of stone. The full recapping of the wall with soldier and sailor stone and mortar cap.  A hybrid hot lime mortar was used on the project.
